LEARNING FRENCH THROUGH MUSIC
Eric John Kaiser began his career performing in cafés and small clubs in Paris, France where he used to cover songs from many famous French icons (Jacques Brel, Serge Gainsbourg, Georges Brassens, Edith Piaf, Francis Cabrel, etc). He arrived in the United States in 2006, and still enjoys performing those songs in front of both English and French-speaking audiences. Before performing the songs, he always explains some key historical, creative and cultural context in how these songs were performed and composed, and audiences can really connect regardless of their native tongue.
His family has a deep educational background (his brothers are both teachers, and his mother was also a teacher for 30 years), so he recognizes the importance of education. He combines that educational foundation with the knowledge and experience he gathered through touring in France, Canada and through recording five studio albums and offers a unique French music teaching perspective.
Eric John Kaiser offers different educational programs (in French or in English depending on the needs of the teacher or the organization). He can do a live and interactive presentation where he performs songs, displays the lyrics on screen, along with videos, pictures and discussions on the artists. He can also do an educational French sing-along concert adapted to audiences of different age groups. Another type of program he offers is a French songwriting camp.

Eric John Kaiser has set up these different programs in schools (Middle School, High Schools) but also in Universities and French nonprofits (Alliances françaises, etc) all over the USA. He also teaches at the Alliance Française of Portland. We hope you will enjoy having one of these projects in your classroom soon…
